Turkey willing to use Venezuela's cryptocurrency Petro
(MENAFN) Turkey was affirmed to be keen on using the Venezuelan cryptocurrency Petro to become its trade tender.
Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated "we recognize the creation of the Petro and we think it's very good."
The foreign affairs minister then declared "yes, we can use the Petro, and we would be very pleased to do so."
The minister noted that Washington is exploiting the dollar to launch assaults against governments with different opinions.
Cavusoglu stressed that this drives Turkey, along with other countries, to employ a policy of local currencies to be used in trade.
He added "given that the U.S. government has used the dollar as a weapon, numerous countries are opting to use local currencies."
