Qatar- Rules explained for entry of Education Excellence Award

DOHA: The Organizing Committee of the 12th Edition of EducationExcellence Award 2019 held a training workshop at Qatar University for boys and girls to educate them about rules and regulation for applying for the Award.

Dr Fatima Al Dosari, an expert at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said that the Ministry is keen to invite all distinguished and interested university students to participate in the largest award of the country, said a release.

Al Dosari said that the organising of the awareness workshop for the student excellence category aims to open the door to Qatari students to show their skills and creativity and to attract the largest number of distinguished applicants from Qatar University in order to create a culture of excellence in the field of education.

She pointed out that under the platinum medal category of the Award, the winners of distinguished university student will receive a platinum medal and a certificate of excellence and prize money worth QR45,000. In the gold medal category, the university student will receive a certificate of excellence and prize money worth QR35,000.

Al Dosari said that the evaluation criteria for the university student are divided into five basic criteria: personal traits, self development, various activities and competitions, community contributions, scientific research.

Speaking about general rules, Al Dosari said: 'The student can fill out the application form online with an undertaking that all information provided by him are correct. She said that the information should be clear and specific, and reflects a true picture of the actual performance which deserves excellence.

However, unofficial enclosed certificates that do not have the stamp and the date of issuance will be excluded from the evaluation process, she added.

She referred to the conditions of applying for the award of scientific excellence category of university student is to be a candidate Qatari nationality, and be a graduate of a higher education institutions in the lists of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education or working in the State of Qatar, and have an equivalent university degree.
