(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): Like several other provinces, a peace tent was erected on Thursday by the youth and civil society
Najiullah Samon, one of the tent organizers, told Pajhwok Afghan News that they erected the peace tent in support of the movement initiated by residents of southern Helmand province.
He said the time had come when all sides announce ceasefire and enter a dialogue process to find a egotiated end to the decades-long conflict in the country.
Dr. Asmatullah Asim, a member of the provincial council, who attended the sin-in, said ceasefire should be announced by the warring parties on the negotiating table.
Several provincial authorities and tribal leaders were present at the tent.
Deputy governor Mohammad Amin Mobaligh called the sit-in 'a positive process' launched in different areas. He urged the youngsters to allow no one to misuse their sentiments.
