Oman- Asher on ICC panel of development umpires


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named senior umpire from Oman, Rahul Asher, on the International Panel of ICC Development Umpires for 2018.

Asher will join 28 other umpires on the international panel to officiate matches and tournaments organised by ICC.

Asher was nominated along with Rizwan Akram (Netherlands) and Andrew Louw Jr (Namibia) as the latest entrants to the panel for 2018.

A certified Level II umpire, Asher said, 'I am really excited to get this opportunity, which will help me develop as an umpire. I am looking forward to learning from other umpires to grow as a better umpire.'

In his previous major assignments, Asher had officiated in the ACC U16 Elite Cup 2014 in Qatar, ICC World Cricket League Asia Qualifiers in April 2017 in Thailand and ICC U19 World Cup Qualifiers in July 2017 in Singapore.
