Sudan, Kuwait agree on boosting military coop.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KHARTOUM, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- Sudan and Kuwait agreed on Sunday on boosting military cooperation and holding joint personnel training.

Military relations between Kuwait and Sudan are constantly developing, said Kuwait Army Chief Lieutenant-General Mohammad Al-Khudher, speaking after talks with his Sudanese counterpart, Lieut. Gen. Emad Al-Din Adawi.

Lieut. Gen. Adawi declared that Khartoum and Kuwait planned joint military drills to enhance combat readiness of the two countries' forces.

A Kuwaiti military delegation, headed by the chief of staff, arrived in the Sudanese capital on Saturday on a two-day official visit.

Lieu-Gen Al-Khuder is accompanied by Head of the Military Training Institute Major-General Anwar Al-Mazeedi and Commander of Ali Al-Sabah Military College Major-General Bader Al-Awadhi.

The military delegation will take part in Sudan's Military College's graduation ceremony for new batches of officers, including a number of Kuwaitis who completed their training.

The Kuwaiti chief of staff will also visit educational and vocational institutions in Sudan. (end) mmm.rk
