TTP deputy killed in Paktika drone strike


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) SHARAN (Pajhwok): The Tahrik-I-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Deputy Khan Syed Sajna and some more Taliban have been killed in a US drone strike in the Barmal district of southeastern Paktika province, intelligence sources said on Saturday.

According to reliable sources, Sajna and his nephew had been killed in the US drone strike in the Margha locality of Barmal district.

Eid Mohammad, the resident of the area, said US forces struck missiles on the Taliban car in the Margha area on Friday.

Police spokesman Shah Mohammad Arin confirmed the drone strike in the area on Friday in which five Taliban had been killed. He was unaware of Sanjna€™s killing.

Meanwhile Pakistani media reported US drone fired missiles on the Taliban positions in North Waziristan and Afghan side of the Duran Line in which some Taliban had been killed.

Sajna was TTP deputy and head of the Mehsud fiction of theTaliban.

He was appointed as the TTP deputy after the killing of Waliurrahman back in 2013. Sanjna was black listed by the US in 2014.

Since the announcement of new US strategy, US drone strike had increase on both sides of the Durand Line.
