QFA President receives Iraq's Sports Minister


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani received the Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports, Abdulhussein Abtan and the Iraq Football Association (IFA) President, Abdulkhaleq Masoud, yesterday in QFA's headquarters in Al Bidda Tower.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed al-Buainain, Executive Committee Member of the QFA, Mansoor al-Ansari, General Secretary of the QFA, Ali Dawood, Executive Director of the QFA President office, and Mushtaq al-Waeli, Executive Director of Strategy and Institutional Development of the QFA.
The Iraqi delegation's visit to Doha highlights the distinguished relations between the QFA and the Iraqi sports family, especially with the IFA. It also highlights a longstanding relationship that has been in place for many years, and an upcoming period of football-related projects that will flourish in the near future.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest, the importance of activating them and means of developing them in the coming period, in order to serve the football system in the two countries and activate the terms of the joint co-operation between the two associations.
The Presidents also held talks on the bilateral relations between the two brotherly associations and prospects for strengthening and developing them to serve the game in both countries.
The QFA and IFA have recently signed a five-year co-operation agreement as an extension to the initial agreement which was signed back in 2015, the agreement includes many aspects related to football development and means to enhance the role of both associations in order to serve the game in both countries.
