Pakistan Embassy celebrates National Day of Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- H E Ali Javed, Pakistan's Ambassador to Oman hosted a reception aboard Pakistan Navy Ship Tariq (PNS Tariq) at Port Sultan Qaboos to mark Oman's 47th National Day.

Sheikh Hilal Marhoon Salim al Maamari, chief of West Asia Department, Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Brig Abdullah Nasser Hamed al Salmi, Military Welfare Services officer COSSAF graced the occasion.

Officers from the Sultan's Armed Forces and Diplomatic Corps also attended the event to mark the day. Officials from several public and private companies also participated in the event. H E Javed also highlighted the bonds of common history and geography between the sultanate and Pakistan.

Praising the five decades of wisdom and leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said as a beacon of peace and friendship in the region, he thanked Omani nation for hosting 272,000 Pakistanis with generous hospitality.

Pakistan and Oman are strategic maritime neighbours. Both nations cooperate in maritime security and have established mechanisms in fields of politics, defence, business, trade and economic cooperation and also coordinate positions at multilateral forums.
