Kuwait- Awqaf Ministry all set to implement fingerprinting for imams, muezzins in mosques


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is all set to begin implementation of the fingerprint attendance system for imams and muezzins, according to the decision of Civil Service Commission (CSC), reports Al- Rai daily.

In this context, ministry Undersecretary Fareed Amadi disclosed that a system will be put in place to specify the unstable working hour depending on the prayer timing.

This will ensure the affected employees sign in and out before and after each prayer, he noted. The undersecretary declared the ministry needs 1,600 fingerprint machines that will be placed in all mosques across the country.

He explained the router machine will be useful in implementing the fingerprint system on imams, preachers, and muezzins. He reiterated the ministry has been coordinating with the Ministry of Finance over the issue, and that Mosques Sector has a concept to be discussed with the Finance and Administrative Sector in that regard.
