(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – The %E2%80%9C100% Mamans%E2%80%9D association, in partnership with the Italian organization, Soleterre, launched a community radio station called %E2%80%9CMèresenligne%E2%80%9D (Mothers Online), dedicated to single mothers.
The association, %E2%80%9C100% Mamans,%E2%80%9D which operates for the promotion of the rights of single mothers and their children, organized a conference for the presentation of its new online community radio station, %E2%80%9CMère enligne,%E2%80%9D on Thursday, in Rabat.
The project is part of the strategy of the European Union's support program for the governmental plan for equality between men and women 2012-2016. It is financed by the European Union, in partnership with the Ministry of Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development, through the Social Development Agency.
Attended by project partners and women's rights associations, the conference provided an opportunity for single mothersto raise awareness of their exclusion from society and to make their demands visible among the public in an accessible manner.
The single mothers' association has been working for over 11 years in Tangier to improve the conditions of single mothers and their children, their social and professional reintegration to reduce the stigmas which surround them.
%E2%80%9CThe radio project was a dream that we are now able make it come true. This is a new step for us to help single mothers better defend themselves and claim their rights, be it as women or as single mothers,%E2%80%9D said Coordinator of the association, Rhimou Hajoub, during the conference.
