Surge in Philippine's imports by 39.3% in May


(MENAFN) Based on The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine's imports raised by 39.3% year-on-year to USD 6.736b.

Socioeconomic Planning stated that the positive performance of imports is a signal that the national economic conditions are strong even if the global economy is weak.

Only the Philippine, among 11 selected Asian countries, showed a growth of 39.3% while other countries declined.

Surprisingly, growing imports for the Q1 amounted to USD 31.893b, sharing an increase compared to the same period of the last year.
