Rio de Janeiro Jumada II 21 1437 March 30 2016 SPA -- Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff's main coalition partner abandoned the government Tuesday intensifying the country's political crisis dpa quoted media reports.
The centrist Brazilian Party for Democratic Movement (PMDB) quit its governing coalition with the ruling Workers' Party withdrawing its six remaining ministers from the government. The seventh tourism minister Henrique Alves resigned Monday.
The decision increases the likelihood of Rousseff's impeachment over corruption allegations.
Rousseff's vice-president Michael Temer leads the PMDB which has partnered with the leftist Workers' Party since it took power in 2003.
