Kuwait inflation decreases to 3.3 percent in May

(MENAFN) Kuwait's inflation rate, or Consumer Price Index (CPI), decreased to 3.3 percent year-on-year in May, down from 3.4 percent year-on-year in April, Kuwait Times reported.

The slight decrease is attributed to a slowdown across all the economic components, except healthcare and local foodstuff, which witnessed a gradual increase in inflation but remained fairly low.

Most CPI components kept almost the same prices or witnessed a relative slowdown such as the clothing and footwear inflation which decreased by 1 percent year-on-year in May.
