(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) A Korean firm participating in the third annual Regional Cybersecurity Summit has showcased how its technology, Digital Forensic Evidence, can help police tackle cyber crimes.
''We are training people to use this technology in Oman. It is time that organisations take steps to protect their data. We are here in Oman to showcase new methods of investigation so that dealing with cyber crimes becomes easier for police,'' said Jin G Kwak, general manager, Duzon ISS, South Korea.
Explaining the technology, he said that a significant amount of data lost can also be recovered. ''This technology can also track devices such as tablets, computers and smartphones.''
The two-day summit opened on Sunday under the auspices of H E?Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel. It had been organised by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) and represented by Oman National CERT (OCERT) in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), IMPACT and French business information group, Naseba.
As many as 19 Arab countries discussed threats, challenges and technologies to counter cyber attacks in the region. Noted companies like High-Tech Bridge SA and Kaspersky also participated in the event.<
