(MENAFN) Gulf Air stated that it has suspended flights between Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Iran until further notice, as the carrier didn't receive the approval from the Iranian authorities to resume operations, reported Gulf-Daily-News.
The company said that it hopes to re-launch the service in early 2013.
The Iranian Civil Aviation Authority was supposed to grant the Bahraini airline the approval for its flight schedule as permitted under the terms of the current mutual deal in order to commence flights to Tehran.
It is worth noting that the Gulf Air World Wide Contact Center has set up a dedicated customer services team and is contacting passengers affected by the move in the next 7 days to provide other options.
