Kid wishes mom's phone wasn't invented, essay goes viral

In a Louisiana school, an Elementary school teacher Jen Beason asked her students to write an essay on something they wish wasn't invented. Four out of twenty-one students wrote on the topic.
Quite disturbingly, one of the students wrote, "I hate my mom's phone and I wish she never had one."
It certainly puts spotlight on how addiction to hand-held devices is hampering lifestyle.

Phone over kids?
Jen Beason posted the essay on Facebook, which was shared over 2 lakh times. Later, she deleted the post.
The comments, reportedly, showed many parents were guilty of ignoring their kids.
Many teachers agreed with Beason and said they had similar experiences where kids complained about mobile phones.

"We had a class discussion about Facebook and every single one of the students said their parents spend more time on Facebook then they do talking to their child. It was very eye-opening for me," read a comment by Abbey Fauntleroy.
Smartphone addiction of parents leads to kids' poor behavior

A study published in the journal Child Development concluded technoference (technological interruptions in parent-child interactions) led to the poor behavior of children.
Young children are more prone to whining, sulking, restlessness, frustration and outbursts of temper if their parents were more technologically addicted.
Nearly 48% parents admitted to 'technoference' at least three times a day.
