Lebanese President discuss relations with UAE's Ambassador

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Lebanon's President Michel Aoun held talks, at Baabda palace, with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Lebanon, Hamad al-Shamsi, over the bilateral relations between the two countries and the current situation on the regional scene, NNA reported.

"During the meeting, I broached the Emirati-Lebanese relations, and the keenness of the UAE on bolstering these ties in all fields," the diplomat told reporters.

"I also discussed with President Aoun the positive outcome of the CEDRE conference, and the assistance the Emirati state can provide to boost Lebanon's economy and its security and military institutions," he added.

"I also maintained to the President that the Emirati state will always side by Lebanon," he concluded.

The meeting was attended by the President's international affairs advisor, former minister Elias Bou Saab.
