Poroshenko, Klimkin offer condolences over tragedy in Toronto


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President Petro Poroshenko has offered condolences over a tragedy in the Canadian city of Toronto.

'I was deeply shocked to learn about the heinous van attack in Toronto that claimed innocent lives. Our condolences and prayers go to those affected by this tragedy. The Ukrainian people stands by the Canadian friends at this grief moment, Poroshenko wrote on Twitter.

Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin wrote on Twitter that Ukrainians stand with the people of Canada.

'Heartbroken to read the news coming from Toronto. My thoughts and prayers with loved ones of those killed. Wish a speedy recovery for the injured. Ukraine stands shoulder to shoulder with Canada, Klimkin wrote.

As reported, on Monday, April 23, a van ploughed into a crowd in the Canadian city of Toronto, leaving ten people dead and 25 injured.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko said Ukrainian citizens were not killed or injured in the tragedy.
