Japanese PM hit with lowest approval rating level over scandal

(MENAFN) Japan's Cabinet was confirmed to have struck Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with approval ratings that dipped to the lowest level.

Cabinet approval ratings were demonstrated by four media polls to have dropped to 30 percent, marking the lowest level ever since 2012 when the Prime Minister won office.

It comes after opposition lawmakers interrogated him on a widening school land sale scandal that his spouse is allegedly involved in.

Opposition lawmakers have also urged for a testimony in parliament to take place by the Prime Minister's wife along with other officials linked to the scandal.
