Nearly 300 Rotana participants from across 16 hotels in Dubai and Northern Emirates joined in the 3 km city walk starting from Dubai Creek Park in solidarity with millions of children in developing countries who walk long distances every day to go to school. David Prince, Area Vice President for Rotana commented, “Walk for Education hosted by Dubai Cares is a remarkable initiative to increase public awareness about the difficulties faced by young children to access basic education in developing countries. We are honoured to be actively associated with such initiatives that aim to bring positive change in the lives of thousands of children. As part of our CSR endeavour, we are deeply committed to improving the lives of the communities around the world, especially young children so that they can pursue quality education to break the cycle of poverty”. As part of the commemoration of ‘Year of Zayed 2018’, ‘Walk for Education’ organized by Dubai Cares called upon UAE citizens, residents and visitors to participate in the walk to highlight the plight of millions of children in developing countries who walk an average of three kilometers every day to attend school. In honour of ‘Year of Zayed’, Rotana aligns its integrated CSR strategies to reflect the noble objectives of the initiative, in efforts to give back to the community.
