India aims to launch projects worth USD1tr in energy sector


(MENAFN) India plans USD1tr to transform its energy sector into clean energy and enhance energy efficiency, which will help millions of villagers and help households save billions of dollars in elect bills.

Accordingly, the country has USD1tr investment chance in energy sector, which will see 40 percent of renewables in energy mix by 2030 as part of its commitment to Paris deal.

Meanwhile, India aims to increase its 44 GW installed capacity in renewables of total 310 GW into 175 GW by 2022, which will need USD250bn investments by 2022.

Moreover, an USD10.4mn project to distribute solar energy kits worth USD650 to almost 16.000 families in border villages of Arunachal Pradesh state will give energy access to 100.000 people.
