Morocco- Princess Lalla Salma Chairs Third Edition of 'Bal de la Riviera' in Portugal


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, chaired, Saturday night in Estoril (Cascais), the third edition of the Bal de la Riviera.

During the gala evening, Prince Charles-Philippe of Orléans, the event's organizer, handed to Princess Lalla Salma the 'Tribute Award' in recognition of her efforts and personal commitment to the fight against cancer.

The Princess expressed on this occasion her gratitude to the organizers of this initiative dedicated to the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, highlighting the high solicitude of King Mohammed VI towards this Foundation.

Prince Charles-Philippe of Orléans also handed to the director general of the said Foundation, Dr. Rachid Bakkali, the 'Solidarity Prize,' awarded to the Foundation.

Later on, Princess Lalla Salma followed an institutional film on the Lalla Salma Foundation, before attending an auction with proceeds going to the Foundation.

At her arrival at the ceremony venue, Princess Lalla Salma was greeted by Prince Charles-Philippe of Orléans and his spouse, and by the Mayor of Cascais, Carlos Carreiras.

The ceremony was marked by a musical performance during which Portuguese and Moroccan singers Ana Moura and Zineb Afilal presented to the guests a unique fusion of Fado and Malhoun.

Launched by Prince Charles-Philippe of Orléans, 'The Bal de la Riviera' initiative is an international platform that brings together a number of influential figures around a common cause of solidarity.
