Asia to raise USD300b a year for Paris climate goals

(MENAFN) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) warned in a new report that if Asian governments intend to support their 2015 Paris climate summit goals, they have to raise USD300b per year until 2050.

ADB's deputy chief economist confirmed: "This is a substantial sum but the economic returns from adopting low-carbon policies far outweigh the costs."

However, reduced investment in fossil fuel extraction could help also to offset 20% of the total costs.
