Dubai hotels profits surge 14 percent


(MENAFN) A HotStats survey by TRI Hospitality said that demand for Abu Dhabi hotels increased in March as profits surged 14.3 percent, Arabian Business reported. Hotel occupancy rate in the emirate increased 4.3 percent in the month, while average room rate (ARR) reached USD157.76, up 2.2 percent, pushing revenue per available room (RevPAR) by 7.8 percent. The ARR was being pushed by rate growth within the corporate segment increasing 12.4 percent and the conferencing segment increasing 9.7 percent. Managing director of TRI Hospitality Consulting said: "Abu Dhabi has witnessed a consistent rise in demand during the first quarter of 2014, with occupancies increasing 4.4 percent to 79.1 percent."
