Dr. Jose A. Rodriguez is a highly experienced surgeon who has been in practice for more than 28 years. His acclaimed career in medicine began in 1989, when he graduated from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. After an internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Rodriguez completed a residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery, followed by a fellowship in Arthritis and Joint Replacement Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. Thereafter, he completed the Maurice E. Muller Fellowship in Surgery of the Hip at the University of Berne in Switzerland.
Dr. Rodriguez is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and he provides both surgical and non-surgical treatments for patients of all ages. He is particularly renowned as an expert in total joint replacement, including minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery including direct anterior approach, and custom and anatomic total knee designs, as well as complex revision hip and knee reconstructions. Dr. Rodriguez has served 2 tours of duty in Iraq as a Major in the Unites States Army.
He has won a number of prestigious awards during his career, including the James Rand Award for Outstanding Paper in Knee Surgery, and AAOS awards for Scientific Exhibits and Surgical Technique Videos, and his expertise in his field makes Dr. Jose A. Rodriguez a very worthy winner of a 2017 Top Doctor Award.
