The event also highlighted the long-term work of Tommy Miah's Hospitality Management Institute (TMHMI), which has been active for more than three decades in developing skilled professionals for the hospitality and tourism industry.
Over the years, TMHMI has reportedly trained more than 30,000 students, contributing to workforce development in both local and international hospitality sectors. This year alone, the initiative has supported the creation of over 500 jobs through training programs, enterprise development, and industry partnerships.
The 25th anniversary celebrations included a Home Chefs Competition aimed at encouraging culinary creativity, promoting local food culture, and engaging emerging talent in professional cooking pathways.
Speaking on the occasion, Tommy Miah emphasized a long-term vision for Bangladesh's tourism and hospitality sector, focusing on skills development, women's empowerment, eco-tourism, and international collaboration.
"Our vision is to position Bangladesh as a global hub for hospitality, skills, and culinary tourism through training, empowerment, and international collaboration," he said.
He also underscored initiatives such as Taste Asia Festival, Home Chef programs, and eco-tourism projects like Baronthi Gram Eco Village, which aim to link cultural heritage with tourism development.
