Pakistan Interior Minister Returns to Iran for Fresh Talks on US Proposal

(MENAFN) Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has arrived in Tehran for his second visit within a week, as diplomatic efforts reportedly intensify around a new US proposal aimed at ending the ongoing Middle East conflict, according to reports citing Pakistani government sources.

Officials familiar with the matter said Pakistan’s mediation track between Washington and Tehran has now entered what they described as a “critical phase,” with renewed diplomatic activity focused on reviving stalled negotiations.

During his visit, Naqvi held talks with Ahmad Vahidi, where discussions reportedly centered on efforts to restart dialogue between the two sides. The Interior Ministry in Pakistan also confirmed that he met Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni as part of his engagements in Tehran.

The minister previously accompanied Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir during an earlier visit to Iran last month, reflecting continued high-level coordination between the two countries.

According to Pakistani government sources, Naqvi is also expected to hold further meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and other senior officials, where the latest US proposal and broader diplomatic options are expected to be discussed.
