NEW YORK - Orchestra has been named US strategic public relations agency of record for the US Soccer Federation, the official governing body of soccer in the United States, as the organization ramps up engagement ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Orchestra won the business following a competitive review earlier this year. The partnership officially started in April.
According to Orchestra, the agency's work will focus on media relations, cultural storytelling and executive thought leadership, including communications around US Soccer's business strategy, player development efforts, community programs and broader role in American sports and culture.
Orchestra said its work will also include helping communicate US Soccer's long-term growth plans as the sport continues gaining momentum in the United States ahead of the World Cup and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
The assignment is being led by Orchestra's sports practice head Peter Drummond.
“US Soccer is not just preparing for a tournament - it is focused on building the next era of soccer in the United States for everyone the sport touches,” Drummond said.“We're honored to be chosen at this critical juncture for the Federation.”
Orchestra's appointment comes roughly three months after the Federation hired Praytell to support the organization's efforts to grow and sustain fandom in advance of the World Cup, with a particular focus on driving awareness of upcoming national team send-off matches.
"We're proud of the work we did to support the US Soccer Federation, including the launch of the best-selling kit in national team history. While we elected to sit out of the organization's recent agency review, we wish them the best of luck and are looking forward to seeing what's next,” Praytell said.
