Prime Minister Receives Phone Call From Iranian Foreign Minister
Doha, Qatar: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran HE Dr Abbas Araghchi.
During the call, the latest developments related to the ceasefire were reviewed, and the necessity of consolidating it in a way that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region.
During the call, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the need for all parties to respond to the ongoing mediation efforts, in a way that opens the way for addressing the roots of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, leading to reaching a sustainable agreement, and preventing renewed escalation.
His Excellency also stressed the necessity of opening sea lanes, ensuring freedom of navigation, and not using them as a pressure or bargaining card, stressing in this context the negative effects of this on the countries of the region, the world's energy and food supplies, and its repercussions on international peace and security.
