Russia Claims Seven Strikes Against Ukrainian Military-Linked Targets

(MENAFN) Russia's Defense Ministry announced Friday that its forces carried out seven precision strikes against Ukrainian military-linked targets over the past week, framing the offensive as direct retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure inside Russian territory.

In addition to the strikes, Moscow said its troops seized control of seven settlements and declared full control over the Luhansk region.

Overnight, Russian forces launched what the ministry described as a large-scale coordinated strike employing air- and ground-launched long-range precision weapons alongside attack drones. The assault targeted Ukraine's military-industrial complex and energy infrastructure that Moscow said supports Kyiv's military operations.

Over the course of the week, six additional group strikes were conducted, the ministry said. Those strikes hit a broad range of targets, including fuel depots, transport networks, and port infrastructure utilized by Ukrainian forces. Military airfields, facilities involved in the production and pre-launch preparation of long-range attack drones, and temporary deployment sites housing both Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters were also struck, according to the ministry.

Russia's claims could not be independently verified. Ukraine has not issued an immediate response to the statements.
