Highwire Acquires The Bliss Group

SAN FRANCISCO - Highwire has acquired The Bliss Group in a move that expands Highwire's scale and adds new senior leadership.
Highwire and Bliss are combining their healthcare operations under the Highwire Health banner, bringing together Highwire's healthcare business with Bliss Bio Health. The integrated practice will cover consumer health, digital health, healthcare delivery, life sciences and medtech.
As part of the deal, Bliss CEO Cortney Stapleton has been named chief strategy and business officer at Highwire and will join the firm's board of directors. She will oversee performance and go-to-market strategy across Highwire's sector practices. Michael Roth, managing partner at Bliss, will become general counsel and executive chair of the newly formed Highwire Health group.
The acquisition creates a combined agency of more than 250 employees across North America. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition comes less than a year after O'Brien - a former Ketchum leader and 5WPR chief executive - joined the firm, succeeding co-founder Kathleen Gratehouse. In announcing his appointment last May, the firm said bringing in O'Brien reflects the agency's focus on scaling operations and expanding services.
