Dh100,000 Fine, Jail Time For Spreading False Information, Rumours, RAK Police Warn
The Ras Al Khaimah Police have issued a warning and reminder for residents about the penalty associated with spreading rumours or false information online.
The authority said that the penalty of Dh100,000 and jail time of a year or more applies to anyone who uses technology to broadcast or reshare misleading or untrue reports, rumours or information that contradicts official announcements.
