(MENAFN- ForPressRelease)
Bengaluru: After inspiring cities like Lucknow, Chandigarh, Bhopal, and Visakhapatnam, the SBI Green Marathon Season 6 arrived in the dynamic tech capital of India - Bengaluru. The NICE Road Toll Plaza transformed into a vibrant early-morning hub of runners, fitness communities, and green champions united by the spirit of sustainability.
Against the backdrop of Bengaluru's open highways, gentle morning winds, and its strong culture of responsible living, the marathon beautifully embodied its guiding philosophy - "Run for a Greener India."
More than 5,500 participants from across the city - including fitness enthusiasts, families, corporate groups, running communities, and students - joined the marathon with a shared purpose: to run not only for personal endurance, but for the planet.
The run was proudly flagged off by respected SBI dignitaries - Shri V N Sarma - General Manager Network 1, Smt Lekha Menon - General Manager Network 2, Shri Prafulla Kumar Jena - General Manager Network 3, Shri Venkata Giri Chelagamsetty - General Manager CCGRO, Shri Srikanth Gudivada - General Manager CAO - underlining SBI's commitment to fostering sustainability and wellness across diverse Indian cities.
Championing its sustainability-driven legacy, the SBI Green Marathon ensured an environmentally conscious experience at every step:
* Organic T-shirts, plantable BIBs, and reusable cloth goodie bags reinforced a zero-waste approach.
* Black alkaline water, a unique hydration initiative, supported performance, endurance, and runner well-being.
* Waste Management Partner Skrap facilitated waste segregation, recycling, and responsible disposal - with a comprehensive sustainability report to be published post-event.
Adding to the high-energy morning was Mirchi RJ Sushmitha, whose interactions, humour, and crowd engagement kept motivation levels soaring throughout the event.
From 5K, 10K to the 21K Half Marathon, the AIMS-certified route brought together Bengaluru's passionate running community - corporate teams, running clubs, seasoned athletes, and first-timers - all running shoulder to shoulder for a greener tomorrow.
The expansive route along the NICE Road offered runners a refreshing blend of open skies, smooth stretches, and Bengaluru's signature early-morning serenity - making the experience both uplifting and memorable.
With every stride, Bengaluru reaffirmed its dedication to sustainability, community fitness, and forward-looking action. From the sunrise flag-off to the eco-aware post-run celebrations, the marathon stood as a proud green milestone for the city.
As the Bengaluru chapter concludes, the SBI Green Marathon Season 6 continues its ambitious 17-city journey - inspiring India to move toward a cleaner, greener future.
Because every step, every run, and every heartbeat counts - for a Greener India.
