25Th Kuwait Theater Festival Kicks Off

KUWAIT, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi inaugurated Wednesday the 25th Kuwait Theater Festival.
At the festival's opening ceremony, which is organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) and will continue until December 11, Minister Al-Mutairi said that the Kuwait Theater Festival has secured a place in the hearts of the public and in the Arab cultural scene.
Since its inception, the festival has served as a pillar of national consciousness and a true reflection of society, he clarified.
He added that national theater pioneers has established a robust theatrical movement that forged a distinctive artistic legacy and placed Kuwait at the forefront of Arab theatrical activity.
The importance of this edition is further amplified by Kuwait's selection as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media for 2025, the minister said.
The festival activities include a series of theatrical performances, workshops, and panel discussions. Six plays will compete for its awards, beginning Thursday, at the Dasma Theater. (end)
