Selbi Durdiyeva

Selbi Durdiyeva is a Visiting Scholar at Nottingham Law School and Teaching Fellow at the College of Law, Anthropology and Politics, SOAS, University of London. Selbi obtained her PhD in Law at the Transitional Justice Institute, University of Ulster. She is a former Alliance for Historical Dialogue and Accountability (AHDA) Fellow, the Institute for the Study of Human Rights, Columbia University and Nizami Ganjavi Centre Visiting Fellow, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Oxford. She held postdoctoral positions at the 'Postcolonial Hierarchies in Peace and Conflict' project, University of Marburg, Germany, and a Research Assistantship at Nottingham Law School. Her research interests lie in decoloniality, transitional justice, human rights and humanitarian law, and socio-legal approaches. She authored a monograph, 'The Role of Civil Society in Transitional Justice: The Case of Russia,' published by Routledge (2024) and several other peer-reviewed publications.
