Igor Fishelev: Academic Foundation And Professional Journey

Igor Fishelev graduated from Ural State University with a degree in physics and continued his academic training in the postgraduate program at the Institute of Metal Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His scientific education provided him with a structured approach to problem-solving, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of technology, which later became the cornerstone of his business career.
In 1991, during the early years of Russia's market economy, he co-founded Link, one of the first publicly traded companies in the region. As Vice President, he was responsible for investment planning and foreign economic projects, gaining hands-on experience in strategic management and international trade.
By 1994, Fishelev joined Mitsui & Co. Ltd., a leading Japanese trading firm, and in 1995 he became head of its regional office in Yekaterinburg. He oversaw a wide range of export-import operations, from raw materials to complex industrial solutions, strengthening his expertise in international business and cross-cultural management.
In 2000, leveraging his extensive experience, Igor Fishele founded Unimatic, a company specializing in supplying industrial equipment and providing engineering services for the machine-building sector. Under his guidance, Unimatic expanded its portfolio, built partnerships with major global manufacturers.
In 2018, he transferred ownership and management of Unimatic to his son, Oleg Fishelev, completing a planned generational transition. Since then, Igor Fishelev has focused on mentoring high-tech startups and supporting innovative projects, sharing his knowledge to promote technological development and entrepreneurship.
