J & K DGP Calls For Advanced Surveillance In Srinagar
J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat chairs security review meet
Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Police Control Room in Srinagar, calling for enhanced surveillance, stronger inter-agency coordination, and proactive field engagement to bolster the city's security network.
According to a police spokesperson, the meeting was attended by senior officers from the Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Officers briefed the DGP on the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness across different jurisdictions.
Emphasising the need to strengthen the security grid in Srinagar, the DGP directed officers to make greater use of advanced surveillance systems, maintain effective coordination among all security agencies, and intensify on-ground engagement to ensure public safety.
ADVERTISEMENTThe DGP also instructed officers to establish dynamic and surprise nakas (checkpoints) at strategic and vulnerable locations to enhance area domination and deterrence. He called for seamless communication between adjoining districts to improve real-time information sharing and coordination during operations.
Highlighting the importance of preparedness, Prabhat asked district police chiefs to reinforce their quick reaction teams (QRTs) with better mobility, training, and equipment. He also stressed the need to modernise and upgrade the communication network to ensure uninterrupted and secure connectivity across all operational levels.
