One of the highlights of the Conference, according to Brazilian Publishers, is the SIBF Translation Grant, a USD 300,000 fund available for translation and publishing rights agreements signed during the book fair.
For the president of the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL), Sevani Matos, the Sharjah Publishers Conference is an opportunity for Brazilian companies to strengthen Brazil's image in the international market.“The initiative reinforces our commitment to expanding the visibility of Brazilian literary production and fostering new business opportunities for national publishers,” she was quoted as saying in the Brazilian Publishers statement.
The CBL's and Brazilian Publishers' International Relations coordinator, Rayanna Pereira, said this is an opportunity to strengthen ties with the Arab market and pave the way for the internationalization of Brazilian books.“The B2B sessions and meetings provide valuable connections and exchanges that drive the industry forward.” The Sharjah International Book Fair officially begins on Wednesday (5) and runs until November 16.
