Srinagar- Paras Health, Srinagar, successfully concluded its month-long Breast Cancer Awareness campaign with a special panel discussion held on October 31, 2025.

The event brought together leading oncologists, gynecologists, and healthcare professionals to emphasize early detection, regular screening, and public education in combating the disease.

As part of the campaign, over 1,000 women across the Kashmir Valley were screened, and more than 15 health talks and camps were organized to promote preventive health practices.

In India, one woman dies from breast cancer for every two newly diagnosed cases, making it one of the most common health issues affecting women worldwide. Paras Health, Srinagar, has strengthened its commitment to women's health with the launch of the“For Women, By Women” Breast Cancer Care Team.

This unique initiative ensures that from consultation to treatment and rehabilitation, women patients are cared for entirely by women healthcare professionals in a supportive, gender-sensitive environment.

The team includes Dr. Shabnum Bashir (Breast Oncosurgeon), Dr. Iram (Anesthesia), Dr. Muqtasid (Anesthesia), Dr. Taranum (Radiology), Dr. Nidha Naseer (Radiology), Dt. Aisha Tramboo (Dietitian), Dr. Nadia Jeelani (Pathology), Dr. Arjumand (Physiotherapy), and Madeeha Mukhtar (Clinical Psychologist), providing comprehensive, compassionate care that addresses medical, emotional, and rehabilitative needs under one umbrella.

Throughout October, the hospital facility was illuminated in pink to show support for breast cancer warriors and survivors, and people were given increased access to early detection.
