(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 27 (KUNA) -- Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah said on Monday, that the political leadership is keen on supporting the armed forces, enhancing their efficiency, and strengthening their readiness to face various challenges.
The General Staff of the Army stated in a press release that this came during the Minister's visit to Mohammad Al-Ahmad Naval Base, accompanied by Chief of the General Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan.
The Minister expressed his pride in the efforts of the naval force personnel and their sincere dedication and devotion in performing their national duties.
The statement added that the visit began with a briefing on the nature of the duties assigned to the naval force, as well as an overview of work mechanisms, combat readiness, and the force's role in protecting territorial waters, securing maritime borders, and safeguarding vital facilities.
The visit also included a sea tour aboard the vessel (Al-Istiqlal), during which the Minister witnessed a field exercise with live ammunition, demonstrating the high level of training and professionalism of the naval personnel.
The statement noted that upon his arrival, the Minister of Defense was received by Commander of the Naval Force Rear Admiral Saif Al-Hamlan and a number of senior officers. (end)
