Türkiye Plans for Expanding Licensed Pilots, Aviation Safety


(MENAFN) Türkiye aims to increase the number of licensed pilots to nearly 17,000 by the end of this year and exceed 18,000 within the next three years, according to the 2026 Budget Bill. Last year, Türkiye had 16,290 licensed pilots.

The goal for the upcoming year is to reach 17,102, with projections indicating 17,816 pilots in 2027 and 18,127 by 2028.

Additionally, the number of licensed balloon pilots, popular in tourist destinations, is expected to rise as well.

The country anticipates 723 balloon pilots by next year, 732 by 2027, and 747 by 2028.

Türkiye is focused on enhancing civil aviation and flight safety to meet international standards.

The country plans to continue expanding its bilateral and multilateral air transport agreements, ensuring that these arrangements are actively pursued and managed in the coming year.

Civil aviation inspections will proceed without interruption, with the number of inspections set to increase.

The planned number of inspections is 1,708 by the end of 2025, 2,399 next year, 2,485 in 2027, and 2,664 in 2028.
