Trump Criticizes Jimmy Kimmel’s Comeback
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump on Tuesday lashed out at ABC following Jimmy Kimmel’s reappearance on late-night television, accusing the broadcaster of leaning toward Democrats and hinting at possible legal measures.
“I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back, The White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled!” Trump declared on Truth Social.
He denounced Kimmel’s audience numbers and labeled the presenter “another arm of the DNC (Democratic National Committee),” asserting that his program represents an “illegal campaign contribution.”
Trump further remarked that he intends to “test ABC out on this,” recalling that an earlier legal case against the outlet had earned him $16 million.
“This one sounds even more lucrative,” he noted, while adding: “Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad ratings.”
Kimmel, aged 56, had been suspended the previous week after issuing statements about the alleged assassin of conservative figure Charlie Kirk. During his broadcast, Kimmel accused the “MAGA gang” of distorting the episode for partisan advantage.
When he returned to air on Tuesday, Kimmel nearly broke down emotionally while attempting to clarify his words.
“It was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man. I don’t think there’s anything funny about it,” he explained.
