60 Dead After Boat Capsizes In Nigeria


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 60 people have reportedly died after a boat carrying over 100 passengers capsized in Nigeria, reports said on Thursday.

According to Al Jazeera, the incident occurred when the vessel collided with a submerged tree trunk near the Gosawa area of Borgo district.

The boat was traveling from Tongan Sula in Malala District to the town of Doga near Kainji Dam.

Among the passengers were around 100 individuals, including women and children, who were en route to Doga to attend a condolence ceremony.

Approximately 60 people lost their lives in the accident, while the remaining passengers were rescued.
