Almost 2.3M Children To Attend School In-Person This Year PM Svyrydenko

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported this on Telegra , according to Ukrinform.

“Today marks the start of the school year for 3.5 million Ukrainian children. More and more students are returning to in-person learning: almost 2.3 million students will study on-site, while the number of remote learners is 103,000 fewer than last year,” she wrote.

Svyrydenko noted that children in Kharkiv would attend a new school equipped with a shelter, emphasizing that this symbolizes a future stronger than fear.

“By the end of 2026, we plan to open 203 new shelters,” she said.

The Prime Minister also stated that the government will expand the Mriia system, which currently covers students and teachers in 2,000 schools. In communities affected by the war, 406 digital learning centers have been opened.

Additionally, teachers will receive a monthly bonus of 2,000 UAH starting in September and will have the option to choose where to pursue professional development.

“Unfortunately, some desks will be empty today. Some children will go to school without a father or mother. Some teachers will not be able to meet their students. Every renovated school, every scholarship, every new classroom - this is our debt to those who gave their lives for our future,” she added.
