Kuwait Chairs 165Th GCC Ministerial Council Session

KUWAIT, Sept 1(KUNA) -- The 165th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council kicked off Monday, chaired by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and attended by foreign ministers and heads delegations from GCC states.
The meeting will discuss reports following up implementation of the decisions issued by the GCC Supreme Council during the 45th summit held in Kuwait last December.
It will also review memoranda and reports submitted by ministerial and technical committees and the General Secretariat, along with issues related to dialogue and strategic relations between the GCC countries and international countries and blocs, as well as the latest regional and international developments.
The second joint ministerial meeting for strategic dialogue between the GCC and Japan is also scheduled to be held, as part of efforts to bolster ties between GCC states and countries around the world.
The GCC-Japan meeting will address several topics, notably the joint action plan between the two sides, as well as coordination and dialogue on regional and international issues of mutual interest, in a manner that supports and enhances security and stability. (end)
