TEKNOFEST Maritime Edition Draws 175,000 Attendees


(MENAFN) Türkiye's premier event celebrating advancements in technology, aviation, and space — TEKNOFEST — recently held a special maritime-focused version that attracted an impressive 175,000 attendees over four days in Istanbul.

Referred to as "Blue Homeland," the maritime edition took place from Thursday to Sunday at the Istanbul Shipyard Command.

A news agency acted as the international communications partner for the event.

According to a press release from TEKNOFEST, a total of 2,698 groups submitted applications to take part in the contests.

These contests were organized into three categories: "unmanned underwater systems," "unmanned marine vehicles," and "underwater rockets."

The competition highlighted a range of forward-thinking and creative projects. Out of the initial pool of applicants, 86 teams successfully passed the initial selection process and advanced to the final stage.

Beyond the competitions, the event also featured a variety of seminars, exhibitions, interactive experiences, keynote speeches, and performances.

The main edition of TEKNOFEST is scheduled to take place from Sept. 17 to 21 at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport.
