This tragedy comes weeks after another government MI-17 helicopter crashed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while carrying out flood relief efforts, killing all five crew and pilots on board.
Pakistan has witnessed multiple deadly helicopter accidents in recent years. In 2022, five servicemen and one of the army's top commanders died when a helicopter crashed during flood relief operations in southwestern Balochistan province.
