Kuwait First Deputy PM, Interior Min. Welcomes UN Official

KUWAIT, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah met with Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Iraq and Head of the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad bin Awadh Al-Hassan on Sunday.
During the meeting, they tackled ways of promoting bilateral cooperation and coordination between the State of Kuwait and the UN in a way that contributes to bolstering regional security and stability, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
Sheikh Fahad Yusuf reiterated Kuwait's commitment to continuing close cooperation with the UN, while the visiting UN official commended Kuwait's role and efforts in safeguarding regional security and stability, according to the release. (end)
