Amman, August 31 (Petra) –Jordan Customs Department (JCD) said Council of Ministers approved the recommendation of Economic Modernization and Development Committee to extend its decision to clear e-cigarettes and their liquids stored in the Airport Free Zone (Mashta).
In a statement, the JCD said these vape products must have entered the zone before November 1, 2024, under the special tax rate ahead of issuing the amended special tax system.
The new ultimatum will last for a 1-month period, starting from the date of the decision's issuance, regardless of the storage location.
The department added that the decision includes imported e-cigarettes and their liquids, customs seizures and cases filed before November 1, 2024.
The JCD cited stakeholders' plans to settle and reconcile customs cases, based on the previous tax rate, for one month only.
Noting the decision's role in easing burden on citizens and traders, the JCD called for settling their customs status to achieve their financial interests before the the newly announced ultimatum expires.
