Blue-And-Yellow Flags Waving Over Ethnic Ukrainian Villages In Kursk Region On Flag Day
According to the soldiers, the Ukrainian flag is now flying over Hornal and Huyevo as a symbol of resilience and a reminder to the enemy: Ukraine always remembers and reclaims what is its own.

The holiday was established to honor the centuries-old history of Ukrainian statehood and national symbols, as well as to foster respect for them among citizens, according to a presidential decree issued on August 23, 2004.
Amendments introduced in 2009 added an annual official flag-raising ceremony across Ukraine on this date.
